Guizhou man nearly killed by wild boar after artery bitten severed by 300 jin, translated to English

Recently, in Yuan Kou Town, Tianzhu County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, a wild boar attack incident occurred. A 43-year-old villager, Mr. Long, was bitten by a wild boar weighing around 300 kilograms, causing injuries to his skull and major artery. He was promptly rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment and was admitted to the ICU.

According to reports from Red Star News, Mr. Long’s relatives stated, “He was in a coma for over a week, but he woke up two to three days ago, and his condition is now more stable.” However, he is still undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Mr. Long’s relatives explained that on the morning of March 31st, Mr. Long heard that wild boars were bathing by the river while he was working, so he went to take a look. Many people were gathered around the wild boars, some holding sticks in fear of being attacked. Perhaps sensing a threat, the wild boar suddenly charged at the crowd, with Mr. Long unfortunately becoming the target of the attack. “The wild boar knocked him to the ground, ferociously tearing at his hand and head. His uncle grabbed a thick wooden stick and struck the wild boar forcefully over a dozen times before it released its grip. The severity of the situation was that the wild boar fractured his skull and severed several major arteries and veins.”

Following the incident, Mr. Long was urgently taken to the hospital for treatment and underwent skull surgery before being admitted to the ICU. The wild boar that caused the injuries has since been euthanized.

According to previous reports by Red Star News, Mr. Long, 43 years old, has two children. The unexpected attack by the wild boar has plunged his family into a difficult situation.

“We have heard that compensation can be sought from the government for injuries caused by wild boars. We have reported this matter to the town government, but the approval process takes time, and there is no result yet,” his relatives said.
