Guangzhou man sexually harassed during modeling job interview, incident exposed to online scrutiny.

The topic of “Man sexually harassed during job interview as a model” made it to the top of the trending list on December 16. The man posted about the incident online to warn job seekers, but he became a target of online harassment. The victim stated, “The harm inflicted by the perpetrator is nowhere near the harm caused by online violence.” The incident sparked widespread public opinion, and the videos previously shared by the man have been deleted.

According to reports from Extreme News, a fitness enthusiast from Guangzhou, Guangdong went for a model job interview on December 10, only to encounter inappropriate behavior (sexual harassment) during the interview process.

The man explained that he is passionate about fitness in his daily life and was currently job hunting. He came across a company online recruiting part-time models, so he contacted them for an interview. However, the events during the interview took an unexpected turn. He was initially asked to cooperate with the interviewer in measuring shoulder width, chest circumference, and hip circumference. But when the interviewer began measuring the hip circumference, he suddenly pulled down the man’s pants to his knees, touched his private parts, and engaged in inappropriate behavior.

Subsequently, the man reported the incident to the police and submitted his clothing from that day for examination. The interviewer involved has been detained.

The man shared the incident on a short video platform with the police report receipt in hand. His original intention was to alert everyone, regardless of gender, to bravely speak out against illegal violations. However, he unexpectedly became a target of online violence.

On December 14, during an interview, the man stated, “Since I posted about being sexually harassed online, I have been subjected to severe online harassment.” Numerous comments attacking the man’s appearance and actions flooded the comment section and private messages. He expressed, “The harm inflicted by the perpetrator is nowhere near the harm caused by online violence.”

In recent years, incidents where victims suffer immense harm due to online violence have frequently occurred.

On December 15, the man posted another video stating that the situation had been appropriately handled. However, the public opinion remains strong, and the online violence against him is significant; therefore, he has deleted the videos he shared earlier.

After the incident became public, netizens have expressed their opinions.

Some netizens expressed shock, saying, “This is too terrifying! Such incidents happening in the modeling industry during interviews are unbelievable.” They also advised all job seekers, both male and female, to remain vigilant during interviews and prioritize their safety.
