Guangxi Hezhou residents evacuate as building tilts, becoming hazardous

Recently, in the vicinity of the Baibu Ceramics Factory in Hezhou, Guangxi, a residential building tilted, leading to the urgent evacuation of residents.

According to a report by Huashang Newspaper, on March 15th, a netizen posted a video showing a residential building near the Baibu Ceramics Factory in Hezhou tilting, rendering it uninhabitable. The area has been cordoned off. The netizen mentioned, “There is a burst water pipe under a tree in front of the building. The building is tilting backwards, not forwards. It looks like it needs to be demolished.”

The netizen also mentioned having a friend who used to live there, recalling, “I once had a meal here, and the building trembled when a large vehicle passed by.” The netizen who shared the video noted that the old building has been standing for many years, “It’s older than me.”

In the video, it can be seen that the involved residential building has five floors and appears very old. The scene has been marked with caution tape.

On March 16th, the Baibu Street Office in Baibu District, Hezhou City, responded ambiguously when asked if the building tilt was caused by the burst water pipe, stating that they were unsure.
