Former US Journalist Writes About Supernatural Phenomena: From Atheist to Believer

Former American journalist Lee Strobel claimed in his book that he investigated mysteries of supernatural phenomena such as angels, demons, near-death experiences, and found evidence that proves the existence of heaven and hell. Once an atheist, he has now become a bestselling Christian author.

According to a report from the British Daily Star, Strobel delves into dozens of near-death experience cases in his new book “Seeing the Supernatural: Investigating Angels, Demons, Mystical Dreams, Near-Death Encounters, and Other Mysteries of the Unseen World.”

Among these cases is a visually impaired woman named Vicki who gained the ability to “see” during a near-death experience, leaving scientists puzzled and unable to explain.

In the book, Strobel writes that Vicki had been blind for 22 years. However, after a car accident that led to a near-death experience, she could describe in detail her experience of overlooking her wrecked car and seeing doctors trying to save her while floating towards the ceiling of the operating room.

Despite never “seeing” her friends in her lifetime, she could detail her experience to them after the near-death encounter.

Another case involves a mother who entered a white tunnel and saw the Virgin Mary during a near-death experience. She felt surrounded by deep love and light, experiencing every good or bad deed she had done and its impact on others.

She said, “This was a difficult time for me, but I was supported by unconditional love and got through the painful moments.” She was then asked through telepathy whether she wanted to stay or return to the earthly realm.

Furthermore, former atheist Howard Storm, former chair of the Art Department at North Kentucky University, shared in the book his terrifying near-death experience due to severe stomach ulcers.

He recounted following mysterious visitors for miles during the near-death experience as the sky grew darker. Suddenly, they turned violently towards him, pushing, hitting, pulling, kicking, mocking, and cursing him. Despite his efforts to fight back, he suffered physical and emotional harm during the struggle.

Storm mentioned that they even removed his organs, ultimately causing him to lose an eye and two ears. “No horror movie or book can describe their brutality,” he said.

During the brutal beating, he cried out, “Jesus, save me!” and a brown light appeared, with hands reaching out to him.

Today, Storm has become a Christian pastor. He stated on his personal website that the most important thing he learned from this near-death experience was his relationship with Jesus. He now engages with Christian groups worldwide.

Strobel has also documented many other intriguing near-death experiences in his new book. The publisher of the book stated that Strobel “examines the evidence and considers how we should think about the unseen world and the God who created and rules it.”
