Former head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervision Commission stationed at the China Securities Regulatory Commission, as well as former member of the Party Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Wang Huimin, has been taken down six years after retiring. According to reports from mainland Chinese media, Wang Huimin and his son were arrested together.
On the afternoon of March 21st, the official announcement stated that Wang Huimin, the former head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team at the China Securities Regulatory Commission and former member of the Party Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and laws, and is currently under investigation.
Caixin reported that it has been understood from multiple sources that Wang Huimin’s son, Wang Bangzhong, has also been taken away for investigation. The related news has been brewing for a week.
Public records show that Wang Huimin, born in February 1959 in Ning County, Gansu Province. In his early years, he worked in Xinjiang for a long time, holding positions such as Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Xinjiang Branch of the China Construction Bank, member of the Party Group and Assistant Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Government, Director of the Financial Work Office of the Autonomous Region Government, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region Rural Credit Cooperatives Association.
In January 2014, Wang Huimin was appointed as a member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and in 2015 he became a member of the Party Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the head of the Discipline Inspection Team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed at the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
In April 2019, Wang Huimin retired upon reaching retirement age.
