China Agricultural Bank sees another corrupt official fall from grace. On Tuesday (17th), former chief expert of the Agricultural Bank and former head of the Shenzhen branch, Xu Xilong, was officially investigated.
On December 17th, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission of the Communist Party of China announced on their official website that Xu Xilong, former chief expert of the China Agricultural Bank and former secretary of the party committee and president of the Shenzhen branch, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law. He is currently undergoing disciplinary review by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team stationed at the China Agricultural Bank and investigation by the Supervisory Commission of Heze City, Shandong Province.
Public information shows that Xu Xilong was born in March 1962 in Tiantai, Zhejiang Province. He has worked at the Agricultural Bank for many years and has held positions such as General Manager of the “San Nong” Policy and Regulations Department at the head office.
In around 2011, Xu Xilong served as the president of the Gansu branch of the Agricultural Bank, and in 2014 he became the director of the General Office of the head office.
In 2015, Xu Xilong became the president of the Shenzhen branch of the Agricultural Bank and held the position for several years. According to Tianyancha’s information, in May 2022, the person in charge of the Shenzhen branch of the China Agricultural Bank was changed from Xu Xilong to another individual.
It is worth noting that this year, several officials of the China Agricultural Bank have been reported for investigation or have been dealt with.
On February 29th, Ma Qingsheng, former disciplinary secretary of the Jiangxi branch of the Agricultural Bank, was “double-opened”; on May 16th, Lou Wenlong, former vice president of the Agricultural Bank, was investigated; on May 17th, Liu Zhihong, senior expert at the Credit Card Center of the Agricultural Bank, was investigated; in early June, Liu Shujun, former deputy general manager of the Trust Business Department of the Agricultural Bank, was expelled from the party; on June 13th, Song Lei, former senior expert of the Hebei branch of the Agricultural Bank, was investigated; on July 3rd, Jiang Qi, deputy inspector of the Hunan branch of the Agricultural Bank, was investigated; on July 5th, Yi Yingsen, former director of marketing and general manager of the Institutional Business Department of the Agricultural Bank, was investigated; in October, Fu Siwei, former inspector of the Shenzhen branch of the Agricultural Bank, was investigated.
