The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan issued a special report on low temperatures this morning, affecting the period from the morning of the 24th to the morning of the 25th. Orange alert level 2: New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Yellow alert level: Hsinchu County, Miaoli County.
According to the Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan, due to the influence of a cold air mass from the mainland until tomorrow morning, various regions will be relatively cold. There is a probability of temperatures around or below 10 degrees in certain areas of New Taipei City and Taoyuan City (orange alert level), please take precaution.
Associate Professor Wu Derong of the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Central University in Taiwan pointed out in the column of the “Meteorological Applications Promotion Foundation” that the latest European (ECMWF) model simulation at 8:00 pm on the 23rd showed that from today until tomorrow morning, Northern Taiwan will be colder, with other areas cold in the morning and evening. The lowest temperatures on the flatland of the island will still be below 10 degrees, so remember to keep warm.
Wu Derong mentioned that today, there will still be brief showers in Greater Taipei and the eastern part of the island, while the western part will be mostly sunny with cloudy intervals. The temperatures in different regions are expected to be between 9 and 16 degrees in the northern part, 11 to 23 degrees in the central part, 13 to 26 degrees in the southern part, and 11 to 24 degrees in the eastern part.
According to Wu Derong, the latest European model simulation shows that starting tomorrow until March 3rd, a warm air mass will gradually strengthen, bringing mostly comfortable and slightly warm weather with a tendency for fog in various places; especially from February 28th to March 3rd, there will be a significant warming trend.
