Recently, a car accident occurred at the Tianjin Binhai International Airport terminal, where a ride-hailing driver got out of his car to drop off a passenger and was hit by another vehicle, resulting in injuries and requiring medical treatment.
In a viral video, a black ride-hailing car stops on the roadside in front of the airport terminal. After the passenger gets out, the driver opens the door to help them, but is struck by a white car approaching from behind, sending the ride-hailing driver flying several meters away. The video captures the ride-hailing car’s door being knocked off, significant damage to the front of the white vehicle, and the driver lying on the ground while medical personnel attend to the scene.
According to Dahe News, the accident took place near Gate 4 of the airport terminal where parking spaces were designated.
An eyewitness on the scene reported, “I was there at the time, and emergency response teams including 120, 110, 119, and airport medical staff all arrived. The victim was said to have suffered head injuries. The man’s shoes were even found left behind with bloodstains on the ground. It seems that the ride-hailing driver may not have checked before opening the door and getting out, leading to an instant collision with a white car that scraped off the driver’s side door and injured the driver as they exited.”
Another informant mentioned, “I heard that it was an accident sparked by an altercation and shouting match between the two drivers. The injured party was later taken to the Armed Police Hospital for treatment.”
On June 19, the Tianjin Binhai International Airport Public Security Sub-Bureau reported that the incident occurred around 5:40 am on June 17. Han (male, 30 years old) was driving when he encountered driver Dou (male, 39 years old) getting out of his parked vehicle from the driver’s side, leading to a collision between Han’s car and Dou’s car on the right side, resulting in injuries to Dou and damage to the vehicles. The injured party has been hospitalized for treatment with no life-threatening conditions.
The report also stated that both parties have been ruled out for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or engaging in aggressive driving behaviors. Currently, the investigation and handling of the accident are ongoing.
