Dr. Li Wenliang’s death marks its fifth anniversary, Icelandic democrats hold the CCP accountable for their crimes.

On February 9th, the Iceland branch of the China Democracy Party gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy in Iceland to commemorate Dr. Li Wenliang, the whistleblower of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) who passed away five years ago, and to protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s launch of a virus war and its suppression of freedom of speech, which led to the global spread of the epidemic.

At the end of 2019, the novel coronavirus erupted in Wuhan, where ophthalmologist Dr. Li Wenliang from Wuhan Central Hospital was among the first to issue warnings about epidemic prevention and control to the public, earning him the title of “whistleblower”. However, on January 3, 2020, the local police station in the area where Li Wenliang lived admonished him for “spreading false information”, and tragically, he succumbed to the virus in early February. The subsequent global spread of the COVID-19 epidemic was largely attributed to the Chinese Communist Party’s concealment of the virus’s origin and epidemic information.

As a result of the CCP’s concealment of the virus’s origin and epidemic information, the global pandemic caused immense loss of life and health worldwide, as well as significant impacts on global economic development. Increasingly, voices are pointing towards the likelihood that the novel coronavirus originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, prompting governments around the world, led by the United States, to demand accountability and compensation from the CCP.

The China Democracy Party in Iceland, through its spokesperson Zhou Feng, expressed that the purpose of organizing the event was to expose the CCP’s suppression of epidemic information and long-term crackdown on freedom of speech, as well as to honor the sacrifice of Dr. Li Wenliang. The party emphasized that Dr. Li’s sacrifice serves as a reminder that the CCP’s lies not only cost him his life but also jeopardized the world. Standing in front of the Chinese Embassy in Iceland signifies more than commemorating a brave doctor; it is a stance for truth, opposition to dictatorship, and protection of the shared future of humanity.

Zhou Feng stated, “Five years ago, Dr. Li Wenliang sounded the alarm to the world. He was not a criminal but a hero! Yet, the Chinese Communist regime blocked information, silenced whistleblowers, and ultimately allowed the virus to spread globally, resulting in countless lost lives and shattered families.”

“A healthy society should not have only one voice,” were the last words on Dr. Li Wenliang’s hospital bed. Under the rule of the CCP, truth-tellers are silenced, while concealment and lies become the norm.

Zhou Feng asserted, “Today, we raise our voices not because we enjoy protesting, but because we have no choice. When a regime can decide who lives and who dies, we must resist! When a regime can manipulate information, conceal disasters, we must reveal the truth. When a regime can disregard human rights and enslave its people, we must speak out.”

Furthermore, Zhou Feng emphasized that the gathering not only serves as a remembrance of Dr. Li Wenliang but also as a protest against the CCP’s global biochemical warfare. The CCP has systematically used the virus to destroy the world economy without remorse, deceived the world with false information, and evaded accountability. While they exercise oppressive control over their people, they portray themselves as a “civilized nation”.

Zhou Feng highlighted, “We will not be silent. We stand here to tell the world: the lies of the CCP regime cannot cover up history, the truth will eventually come to light, and justice will triumph over evil.”
