On Monday, March 10th, the United States Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, announced that, following President Trump’s orders, she has revoked the security clearances of several high-profile officials from the previous administration of President Joe Biden.
In a post on social media platform X, Gabbard stated that she has revoked the security clearances of some officials from the Biden administration and prohibited them from accessing classified information.
Among the officials whose security clearances have been revoked are former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, who was involved in overseeing legal investigations against Trump and coordinating the Justice Department’s response to the January 6th, 2021 Capitol riot, New York State Attorney General Letitia James, who prosecuted Trump for business fraud, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who prosecuted Trump for hush money payments, as well as lawyers Andrew Weissmann, who served as lead prosecutor in the Trump-Russia investigation, Mark Zaid, who represented the whistleblower in the 2019 Trump impeachment case, and Norm Eisen, former White House ethics lawyer and special advisor to the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment period.
Gabbard also mentioned that the 51 signatories of Hunter Biden’s “false information” letter have been restricted from accessing classified information.
“The President’s daily brief is no longer provided to former President Biden,” she added.
Traditionally, former presidents continue to receive national security briefings after leaving office.
In early February, Trump stated that he would revoke Biden’s access to security information, ceasing to provide him with daily national security updates.
On the same day, Trump posted on his social media platform “Truth Social,” mentioning that Biden set a precedent in 2021 by instructing intelligence agencies to block Trump from receiving detailed national security information. Trump claimed that this was a courtesy extended to former presidents.
