Costco Food Court to Replace Soda in 2025, Fans thrilled

Social media is abuzz with discussions about the possibility that Costco may switch its beverage offerings in the food court to Coca-Cola early in 2025, prompting excitement among Costco fans.

Costco Insider, in an Instagram post on December 17th, 2024, was the first to report on this news, stating that the Costco food court is expected to transition to Coca-Cola in early 2025. The change will introduce Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, and Diet Coke, replacing Starry with Sprite.

According to the Costco Insider post, Costco switched from Coca-Cola products to Pepsi products in 2013, “to save costs while maintaining their famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.”

Fox Business Channel reported that Costco has not changed the price of their $1.50 hot dog and soda combo since the 1980s.

Matt West, editor of Costco Insider, told Fox Digital News on Friday that Costco Insider learned of this news from “multiple sources.”

West, based in California, said, “Personally, we are very excited about this change. As lifelong Costco fans, we were very disappointed by the change 11 years ago.”

He told Fox Digital News, “Costco Insider conducted a poll among our followers, with 87% preferring Coca-Cola over Pepsi, so it seems that the sentiment among the majority of Costco members is the same as ours.”

An Instagram user responding to Costco Insider’s post said, “Diet Coke!! I used to always buy drinks at Costco, but I haven’t since they switched to Pepsi!”

Another user commented, “Thank goodness. Sorry, Pepsi, but Coca-Cola products taste better.”

On Reddit, users who specialize in discussing Costco gossip are mostly excited about this rumor.

User “joekd713” said, “This makes my day. I always said the only downside of the food court was Pepsi.”

User “Comfortable_Ad7922” replied, “I don’t even get a drink with my hot dog! If they switch to Coca-Cola, I will be thrilled.”
