CIA Director: The Chinese Communist Party is the Greatest Threat in U.S. History

Recently, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the United States, John Ratcliffe, stated in an internal memo that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is the top priority for the CIA to address. He warned, “In the history of our country, no adversary has posed a more severe challenge to us than the CCP, and no strategic competitor is more capable than the CCP.”

In a report by Fox News on Thursday, April 17th, it was mentioned that this internal memo was provided to Fox News by a senior CIA official.

Ratcliffe wrote in the memo, “In order for the CIA to continue effectively defending our country, we will redouble our efforts on a solid basis, focusing on completing the recent priority missions set by the President and the nation for the CIA. China (CCP) tops this mission list.”

He pointed out, “In the history of our country, no adversary has posed a more severe challenge to us than the CCP, and no strategic competitor is more capable than the CCP.” “It is singularly focused on dominating globally in economy, military, and technology, actively seeking to surpass the United States in every corner of the world.”

He emphasized that the CIA must address the threats posed by the CCP with “urgency, creativity, and resilience.”

He added, “I encourage the CIA leadership team to take on risks more boldly (of course, with intelligence), and actively seek opportunities that will secure advantages for the United States in the short and long term to ensure that we leave China (CCP) behind. This is no easy task, but I am committed to leading the efforts to achieve this goal.”

He said, “Technology is another top priority for us, as it intersects in many ways with the threats posed by the CCP.” “Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing will define future national security and geopolitical strength.”

He also mentioned, “Meanwhile, our adversaries – China (CCP), Russia, and Iran – are also attempting to expand their influence in our neighboring countries. We must continuously counteract these actions.” “In order for the CIA to better address this priority, we are closely monitoring and working towards unified action among various policy objectives in that region. The American people deserve our utmost dedication.”
