Recently, the Chinese Communist Party has been causing disturbances near Taiwan, with almost daily dispatches of military aircraft and vessels around the Taiwan Strait. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated that from 6 a.m. on the 5th until 6 a.m. today (the 6th), 23 instances of Chinese military aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, and the Taiwanese military has been closely monitoring and responding to these activities.
In a statement released this morning, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China reported the movements of Chinese military aircraft and vessels from 6 a.m. on the 5th until 6 a.m. today. They detected 27 instances of Chinese military aircraft (with 23 instances crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entering the airspace in the north, southwest, and east) and 6 Chinese military vessels along with 1 government ship continuing their operations around the Taiwan Strait. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the Taiwanese military is closely monitoring and responding to these activities using aircraft, naval vessels, and missile defense systems.
On the 5th, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China disclosed the latest developments in the airspace surrounding Taiwan, reporting that from 6 a.m. on the 4th until 6 a.m. today, they identified 12 instances of Chinese military aircraft (including 8 instances crossing into the southwest airspace) and 7 Chinese military vessels operating near the Taiwan Strait. The Taiwanese military is utilizing aircraft, naval vessels, and missile defense systems to closely monitor and respond to these activities.
Furthermore, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China revealed that since 2:55 p.m. on the 5th, they have continuously observed various types of Chinese military aircraft, including J-16 fighters and KJ-500 early warning aircraft, along with drones conducting 23 sorties at sea. Of these, 19 instances crossed the median line and its extensions, entering the airspace in the north, central, east, and southwest regions, in coordination with Chinese naval activities conducting “joint combat readiness patrols.” The Taiwanese military is employing integrated intelligence surveillance methods to effectively monitor these activities and has deployed aircraft, naval vessels, and missile systems to respond appropriately.
Additionally, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China reported the detection of 3 Chinese helium balloons drifting in the airspace. The first balloon was spotted at 7:55 a.m. on the 4th, 64 nautical miles northwest of Keelung, at an altitude of 21,000 feet, disappearing at 12:05 p.m. The second balloon was seen at 10 a.m. on the 4th, 82 nautical miles southwest of Keelung, at an altitude of 20,000 feet, vanishing at 12:05 p.m. The third balloon was identified at 3:25 p.m. on the 4th, 84 nautical miles northwest of Qingquangang, at an altitude of 16,000 feet, disappearing at 4:30 p.m.
