The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) announced the dynamics of the Chinese Communist military aircraft and vessels in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait. According to the report from 6 a.m. on the 29th until 6 a.m. today (30th), a total of 16 sorties of Chinese military aircraft have crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait into Taiwan’s airspace, prompting the Taiwanese military to closely monitor and respond to the situation.
China has never renounced the use of force against Taiwan and regards Taiwan as a part of its territory, frequently dispatching military aircraft and vessels to harass Taiwan. The government of the Republic of China strongly opposes China’s sovereignty claims over Taiwan, asserting that the destiny of Taiwan’s 23 million people can only be decided by themselves.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released the dynamics of Chinese military aircraft and vessels this morning, revealing that from 6 a.m. on the 29th until 6 a.m. today, a total of 23 Chinese military aircraft (including 16 aircraft that crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait into the airspace of northern, southwestern, and eastern Taiwan) and 6 Chinese vessels were detected operating around the Taiwan Strait.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China emphasized that the Taiwanese military is utilizing surveillance aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the activities of Chinese military aircraft and vessels in the region.
Additionally, on the 29th, the Ministry of National Defense released a press release stating that starting from 9:50 a.m., a total of 21 sorties of various types of Chinese military aircraft, including J-16 fighters, KJ-500 early warning aircraft, and drones, have been observed conducting activities in the sea. Among them, 16 sorties crossed the median line and its extensions, entering the airspace of northern, southwestern, and eastern Taiwan to coordinate with Chinese vessels performing “joint combat readiness patrols.”
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China reiterated that the Taiwanese military is employing advanced surveillance and reconnaissance methods to closely monitor the situation and is deploying aircraft, vessels, and missile systems to appropriately respond to any provocations.
