California’s support for the Republican Party rises in the 2024 elections.

According to data released by the Secretary of State, Republican support is rising in California.

The densely populated coastal counties of California continue to show support for Democratic candidates, while President Donald Trump has gained support in the inland counties.

Despite this, Trump’s support across California has significantly increased compared to 2020.

Based on the results of the vote on November 10, in the 2024 election, Trump received 39% of the votes in California, while Democratic Vice President Harris received 59%. In comparison, Trump received 34% of the vote in California in 2020, while Biden received 64%.

Preliminary results show that Trump is currently leading in several counties that Biden won in 2020.

In San Bernardino County, Harris received 47% of the votes, while Trump received 51%. In 2020, Biden received 54% of the votes, and Trump received 44%.

In Riverside County, Harris received 48% of the votes, and Trump received 49%. In 2020, Biden received 53% of the votes, while Trump received 45%.

In Fresno County, Trump received 53% of the votes, while Harris received 45%. In 2020, Biden won Fresno County with 53% of the votes, while Trump received 45%.

In Merced County, Trump received 52% of the votes, and Harris received 46%. In 2020, Biden had 54% support in the county, while Trump had 43%.

In Stanislaus County, Trump and Harris received 55% and 43% of the votes respectively. Four years ago, Biden led Trump by a 1% margin (49%) to win the county.

In San Joaquin County, Trump leads Harris with 49% support to her 48%. In 2020, Biden received 56% support in the county, while Trump received 42%.

Furthermore, Trump’s support has further increased in some of the counties he won in 2020.

In Kern County, Trump currently leads with 59% compared to Harris’s 39%. In 2020, Trump received 54% of the votes, while Biden received 44%.

In Tulare County, Trump received 60% of the votes, while Harris received 38%. In 2020, Trump received 53% of the votes in Tulare County, while Biden received 45%.

Major population centers like the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Diego continue to support the Democratic Party. However, Trump’s support in these areas has increased compared to 2020.

In Los Angeles County, the most populous county in California, Trump received 32% of the votes this year, up from 27% in 2020. Harris received 65% of the votes this year, lower than Biden’s 71% in 2020.

In Orange County, preliminary results show Harris with 49% of the votes, slightly ahead of Trump’s 48%. In 2020, Biden won with 53% support, while Trump had 44%.

In San Diego County, 57% of the votes went to Harris, while 41% went to Trump. In 2020, Biden received 60% of the votes, while Trump received 37%.

Preliminary results in San Francisco show Harris currently at 81% of the votes, with Trump at only 15%. In the previous election, Biden received 85% of the votes, while Trump received 13%.

With over 22 million registered voters, California is considered a “safe blue state.” Trump currently has nearly 5 million votes in California, while Harris has over 7 million votes. In 2020, Trump received a total of 6 million votes in California, while Biden received 11 million.

Previous polls have shown that California voters are most concerned about economic issues, housing, and homelessness. When it comes to national issues, voters in California are most concerned about the threat to democracy, economic conditions, unemployment, job creation, and immigration.

The results for several key congressional seats in California are still very close.

In California’s 27th Congressional District in northern Los Angeles County, incumbent Republican Representative Mike Garcia conceded defeat on the evening of November 11. He trailed Democrat George Whitesides by about 2.4 percentage points.

In the 41st District in eastern Los Angeles, longtime Republican incumbent Ken Calvert received 51.3% of the votes, while Democrat Will Rollins received 48.7%.

In the 45th District (including parts of Orange and Los Angeles counties), current Republican Representative Michelle Steel leads with 50.7% of the votes, closely followed by Democratic opponent Derek Tran with 49.3%.

In the 47th Congressional District (including Huntington Beach in Orange County and nearby coastal communities), Democrat Dave Min garnered 50.5% of the votes, while Republican Scott Baugh received 49.5%.

In the 49th Congressional District (covering parts of Orange County and northern San Diego County), Democratic incumbent Mike Levin received 52% of the votes, while Republican Matt Gunderson received 48%.

In the 22nd Congressional District in the San Joaquin Valley, Republican David Valadao received 53.6% of the votes, while Democrat Rudy Salas currently has 46.4%.

Also in the San Joaquin Valley, Republican incumbent John Duarte in the 13th District received 51.1% of the votes, while Democratic challenger Adam Gray had 48.9% support.
