Today’s focus: Concrete mixer driver crazily hits people, primary school students eat “zombie meat”; 700 million people in China in debt, over 230,000 suicides in six months; Coastal areas experience widespread seawater backflows, businesses asked to remove knives from shelves.
In the past few days, China has seen several sudden events, all of which the Chinese Communist Party is desperately trying to cover up. Let’s take a look at them.
Around 9 pm on October 23rd, a concrete mixer truck in Qingdao, Shandong, China, drove in reverse and hit dozens of cars in People’s Road. The driver filmed a video while shouting in the driver’s seat, “The Communist Party won’t let me live, I want to kill!”
This concrete mixer truck hit approximately 50 vehicles of various types, and some people captured the scene of the mixer truck recklessly driving on the road.
According to statistics, due to the overall economic decline in China this year and the boiling public grievances, nearly a thousand cases of intentional vehicle ramming incidents have occurred. On the night of October 21st, a similar hit-and-run incident happened in Wuhan, resulting in 7 deaths and 11 severe injuries.
After the incidents, local media reported it as a suspected minor accident caused by a small car possibly losing control, injuring three people. It’s a typical official practice of making a big deal small and downplaying the situation. However, with the continuous occurrence of such violent incidents almost daily, the authorities are finding it difficult to cover up. On October 24th, another car rammed into pedestrians at the entrance of Jingdezhen College in Jiangxi, injuring 4 university students.
After the continuous exposure of violent vehicular incidents on overseas social media, many netizens commented that China is now a place of “walking zombies”. Some questioned why the Communist Party claims China is the safest country globally when incidents like these are happening rampantly. There were also remarks about the high suicide rates linked to debts, with over 230,000 suicides recorded in the first half of 2024, a 76.9% increase from the previous year.
Due to strict political control, unpredictable economic policies, severe corruption, and the resulting public discontent, the Chinese society is filled with anger and unrest. The Communist Party fears the uprising of a population unafraid of death. On October 22nd, police stations called merchants and demanded the removal of kitchen knives from shelves. It seems the regime is going to all lengths to prevent any sort of unrest.
In addition to public grievances, natural disasters add to the chaos. On October 21st, abnormal seawater backflows were reported in Liaoning, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Fujian, Xiamen, and other coastal areas from the north to the south. In some locations, seawater had inundated city streets and residents’ homes. To project a positive image, the authorities replaced the term “seawater backflows” with a new term – “abnormal rise in water level”.
Chinese society has become a living hell, filled with traps everywhere. Even places like schools, once considered ivory towers, have turned dangerous. On October 16th, at Changfeng School in Guandu District, Kunming, Yunnan, students were served frozen “zombie meat” dating back to 2015, which parents found to be rotten upon inspection.
This incident escalated with the presence of police, suppliers, school administrators, and parents at the scene. Despite parental verification that the meat was spoiled, the education bureau downplayed the situation as merely having a slight odor, requiring further testing.
Laughably, this primary school had been officially recognized as a “Five-Star Private School” in 2022. Following the exposure of the frozen “zombie meat”, a secretly recorded meeting captured the school’s chairman, Wang Jie, discussing not self-evaluation or improvement, but questioning why their secrecy measures failed.
Likewise, on October 23rd, at XinHua Primary School in Futian, Shenzhen, students were found to have been given expired frozen chicken meat from four years ago, which was also found to be rotten. Even worse, parents revealed that a similar incident occurred the previous year but was brushed under the rug. The school blamed the supplier, claiming a misprint of the production date from 2024 to 2020 to evade responsibility. Parents in WeChat groups expressed concerns about not only the expired chicken but also expired milk being served for four out of five school days.
On October 20th, a Chinese resident in Japan, “Sister Fang”, posted a video recounting her child’s experience at a Japanese middle school with over 500 students and nutritionist-designed meals. The school hosts an annual “Student Meal Parent Tasting Conference,” where parents experience lunch and learn about food sources. The contrast between this event and the incidents of rotten chicken at Shenzhen and “zombie meat” in Yunnan highlights a deep understanding of both the so-called “golden age” of China and the “decadence” of Japanese capitalist society.
