Breaking News: Multiple Law Enforcement Officers in Charlotte, North Carolina Shot

Several law enforcement officers were shot while carrying out an investigation in Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday, April 29, as confirmed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The incident took place on the 5000 block of Galway Drive, where a SWAT team was deployed to the scene.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department urged the public to stay away from the area, stating that the situation was still active and several roads had been closed to expedite the transport of ambulances.
According to information shared by the police on social media, officers from the U.S. Marshals Task Force were shot during an investigation in a community.
“Multiple law enforcement officers have been hit by gunfire and are being transported to the hospital,” the police stated. As of 2:55 pm on Monday, the situation was still considered active.
Charlotte city spokesperson Lawrence Corley informed CNN that Mayor Vi Lyles is closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact number of law enforcement officers who were shot.
