According to local media outlet WMTV, a campaign official confirmed that President Joe Biden will be visiting Madison, Wisconsin on Friday to participate in a campaign event, marking the beginning of a crucial weekend for his re-election bid.

Biden is expected to arrive at Dane County Regional Airport around noon, and then proceed to the rally to engage in campaign activities.

This visit will be President Biden’s second visit to Madison this year and his fifth visit to the battleground state of Wisconsin. Previously, he visited Madison in April and announced a new student debt relief plan.

President Biden’s visit comes after last week’s first presidential debate. During the debate, President Biden and former President Donald Trump discussed topics such as abortion, immigration, and the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.

CBS reported that, to address concerns, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris participated in a conference call with campaign staff on Wednesday and later in the evening met with 20 Democratic governors at the White House. President Biden also had conversations with Democratic leaders from the House and Senate, as well as other key allies in Congress.

On Friday, President Biden will also be interviewed by ABC News, with the network stating that the interview will be broadcast in its entirety on Friday evening. This interview could be crucial for Biden’s candidacy and his presidency.

President Biden is expected to depart from Madison around 4:30 PM and head to Delaware.

President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are set to visit another battleground state, Philadelphia, on Sunday.
