Australia hit by cyclone, collision of two army vehicles during mission leaves 36 injured.

During the onslaught of tropical cyclone Alfred in eastern Australia, emergency rescue units and police in Australia reported that two military trucks collided during a relief mission today, leaving 36 people injured, with some of the injured being urgently transported to multiple hospitals.

According to Agence France-Presse, the police in New South Wales issued a statement indicating that the two trucks collided to the southwest of the flood-prone city of Realism, injuring personnel from the Australian Defence Force.

Officials mentioned that a specialized rescue team was dispatched to the scene by the police, and the New South Wales ambulance authority also sent a team of paramedics, including two helicopters.

The New South Wales ambulance authority stated that the latest figures showed there were 36 injured individuals, with some of them being taken to four different hospitals.

In a joint statement released by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Defence Minister Richard Marles, it was noted that some military personnel were severely injured.

The statement read: “Our current focus is on the well-being of the individuals involved in the accident and their families.”
