Anhui “mole” Yang Changjun investigated

On June 18th, Yang Changjun, a senior official in the Anhui Province Discipline Inspection and Supervision System, was placed under investigation.

According to the notice issued by the Anhui Province Discipline Inspection Commission on the 18th, Yang Changjun, a former first-level inspector of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team stationed in the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing review and investigation.

Public records show that Yang Changjun was born in February 1963 and worked in Liuan City, Anhui Province in his early years. He held positions such as Director of Jinzhai County Public Security Bureau, Deputy Director of Liuan City Public Security Bureau, and Deputy Prosecutor General of Liuan City Procuratorate. In April 2010, he was transferred to serve as a member of the standing committee of the Bozhou Municipal Committee and the Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee. In 2014, he was appointed as the Secretary of the Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission and has been working in the discipline inspection and supervision system since then.

In 2017, Yang Changjun served as the head of the Discipline Inspection Team stationed in the Provincial Development and Reform Commission of the Anhui Discipline Inspection Commission and a member of the Party Committee of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

The timing of Yang Changjun’s downfall coincided with the period when the Central Communist Party of China Inspection Team was conducting inspections in Anhui Province. In April of this year, the first inspection team of the Central Communist Party of China entered Anhui Province for inspection work, which will last until June 23rd.
