Anhui Heating Pipeline Explosion Injures at Least Four People and Damages Several Vehicles

On December 14th, an explosion occurred in an underground heating pipeline at an intersection in Huainan City, Anhui Province. The blast resulted in injuries to at least four pedestrians passing by and multiple vehicles were destroyed.

Video footage from the scene shows pedestrians walking on the street and vehicles passing by at 17:59 on the 14th, when suddenly an explosion rocked the ground. Several pedestrians quickly fled the scene as smoke and debris engulfed the area. A bystander who captured the aftermath on video described the explosion as sudden, creating a large hole in the ground with concrete debris flying in all directions, causing damage to nearby vehicles, including one car whose trunk was partially blown off.

A local resident who shared a video from inside their home reported that they live on the 21st floor, with shattered glass windows and walls pierced by flying debris, depicting a scene of chaos within their home.

On the evening of the 14th, a video uploader informed Da Feng News that the incident took place at the Jin Di intersection in Huainan City, specifically at a crossroads on the east side of the D1 block near the entrance of a residential community.

The eyewitness mentioned that it appeared to be an explosion of the heating gas pipeline, although they were unsure of the exact cause. A nearby business confirmed that it was the gas pipeline at the Jin Di Phase II intersection across the street that exploded, with significant damages incurred to their property, including broken windows and damaged solar energy pipes on the roof, as well as multiple vehicles in the vicinity being affected.

A netizen named “Ma Wei’er Little Fairy” mentioned that a similar explosion had occurred in the area in September.

On the evening of the 14th, the Tianjia’an District Construction Bureau in Huainan City reported that a partial rupture of the heating pipeline took place at the intersection of Tianda Nan Road and Chaoyang East Road around 18:00, resulting in “minor injuries” to four pedestrians passing by.

Due to the Chinese Communist Party’s tendency to conceal the truth, the actual extent of the injuries remains unclear.
