A group of new immigrants recently gathered in the Flushing Chinese community in New York to condemn the Chinese Communist government for allowing Chinese companies to export precursor chemicals of fentanyl to drug trafficking groups, which are then sent to Mexico in large quantities and smuggled into the United States. These Chinese immigrants at the gathering pointed out that “fentanyl is a ‘unrestricted warfare’ unleashed by the CCP against the United States.”
The New York branch of the China Democracy and Human Rights Alliance and the China Citizen Action Party held a gathering in the Flushing Chinese community in New York. Participants at the meeting emphasized that “the CCP exporting precursor raw materials of fentanyl to the United States is one of the greatest evils. The CCP has launched a ‘new opium war’ against the United States, with fentanyl being the new synthetic opiate.” “Fentanyl harms people of all ethnicities and skin colors in the United States. Even living in Chinese neighborhoods does not guarantee that children will not be exposed to drugs, and parents cannot be vigilant 24 hours a day.”
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid drug that does not come from the poppy plant like heroin, but rather relies on chemical synthesis. According to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 2021 to 2023, synthetic opioids, including fentanyl, are the leading cause of overdose deaths among the 18 to 45 age group. The production of fentanyl requires specific “precursor chemicals.” According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) report, these “precursor chemicals” are exported in large quantities from China through legally or gray-area chemical companies, ultimately flowing into Mexico and being manufactured into fentanyl by drug cartels in Mexico and smuggled into the United States. The toxicity of fentanyl is extremely potent, with the DEA stating that just 2 milligrams of fentanyl is enough to kill most adults.
Former President Trump once said, “You have to understand, a lot of fentanyl comes pouring into our country from Mexico. In addition, fentanyl from China also enters Canada through Mexico before entering the United States.”
Furthermore, some Chinese companies sell fentanyl or similar substances directly to individuals in the United States through the internet and e-commerce platforms, often mailing them in small packages to evade customs inspections.
During the gathering, attendees chanted slogans in condemnation of the CCP’s rogue behavior, saying “The CCP is really despicable, exporting fentanyl precursors to Mexico, ultimately poisoning America. The CCP has long been involved in drug trafficking, burning opium during the Yan’an period, poisoning the people to fund the army, killing two birds with one stone in the civil war; now targeting America, the CCP hypocritically cries out against drugs, but secretly supplies materials to drug dealers, causing families in America to weep with young lives lost!”
Speaker Gong Kai pointed out at the event, “What the CCP is doing to America is what they did during their time in Yan’an.”
He said, “As mentioned in the ‘Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party’ published in November 2004, during their time in Yan’an, the CCP began burning opium to be sent to areas under the Nationalist army, rendering them powerless in battle. This is a despicable act. The CCP portrayed Zhang Side as a hero back then, when in reality, he died when the opium burning cave collapsed. The fact that the CCP elevates a person who died while burning opium as a hero for us to commemorate is truly ridiculous.”
President Trump announced on April 3 that he would increase tariffs on all Chinese imported goods from 10% to 20% in response to Beijing’s failure to effectively curb the flow of fentanyl into the United States. However, the CCP is trying to turn fentanyl exports into a bargaining chip in negotiations with the United States, claiming that Trump is “politicizing fentanyl.”
In response to this, Gong Kai said, “The CCP treats fentanyl as a trump card in its hands to negotiate in the tariff war with the United States. What kind of rogue country does this?! What kind of evil country does this?!”
Wei Libin, the head of the New York branch of the China Democracy and Human Rights Alliance, said he hopes American politicians and society recognize the evil nature of the CCP’s drug trafficking activities and the harm they pose to the American people and national security. He expressed support for Trump’s efforts to combat the CCP’s export of fentanyl to the United States, stressing that this “invisible war” cannot be ignored.
Chinese participants at the gathering chant in their slogans, “Wake up, America! We cannot let drugs spread any longer, as both you and I are in America, Chinese Americans will also face disasters, and our future generations will be ruined!”
