On December 27, 2024, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director, Sandra Gage, stated that on the 19th, AIT, in collaboration with the American State Offices Association, and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, jointly established the “Invest USA Committee” to support Taiwanese companies in expanding their businesses in the United States.

AIT announced the formation of the “Invest USA Committee” on the 19th. According to a press release from AIT, this initiative aims to unite stakeholders and provide support for Taiwanese companies looking to expand their businesses in the United States. The American State Offices Association (ASOA) is a founding partner of this committee and will work together to advance this initiative.

Director Sandra Gage expressed during the unveiling ceremony of the committee that the “Invest USA Committee” was created with a clear vision to gather key stakeholders to support Taiwanese companies in establishing or expanding their businesses in the United States. To address this need, the committee will offer comprehensive services that connect enterprises with state offices, professional service providers, industry associations, and other essential resources needed to expand business in the United States.

At the unveiling ceremony, Director Gage, ASOA Chairman Janet Yan, and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA) Chairman Lee Shichin emphasized the importance of creating a collaborative industry ecosystem to assist Taiwanese companies in entering the US market. Moving forward, the “Invest USA Committee” will focus on addressing the long-standing challenges Taiwanese companies face in terms of information access and resource coordination and will promote direct investment opportunities through various activities to help companies looking to expand business in the USA establish networks and communities.

Bilateral investments between the US and Taiwan have grown significantly, fostering strong business partnerships that contribute to economic growth for both countries’ companies. Director Gage stated, “We are committed to strengthening the economic ties between the US and Taiwan, continuing to create value for Taiwanese companies and clients. The establishment of the “Invest USA Committee” marks a significant milestone in this journey.”

Numerous business leaders, government representatives, and service providers attended the unveiling ceremony of the “Invest USA Committee,” demonstrating their strong support for this initiative. AIT welcomes like-minded organizations to join the “Invest USA Committee” and contribute to bolstering the economic and trade connections between the US and Taiwan.
