In the early morning of November 27th, a fire broke out in a building next to a hotel in Nan’an District, Chongqing. According to internet users, “a noodle shop on the first floor caught fire, and the entire building was engulfed in flames.”
Online videos show the fierce blaze spreading from the first floor to the eighth floor along the walls. Nearby, a person was seen rolling on the ground after being burned, prompting a man to take off his down jacket to help put out the fire. In another video, a woman can be heard shouting, “People in the building across the street, come out quickly, it’s on fire!”
Internet users reported that a noodle shop on the first floor of the building caught fire, leading to the entire building being engulfed in flames.
At 9 a.m. on the 27th, the Nan’an District Fire Rescue Bureau reported that a residential building at 66 Jiangnan Avenue in Nan’an District caught fire at 11:39 p.m. on November 26th and the flames were extinguished by 12:11 a.m. on November 27th. One person was injured and taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire was improper operation by staff at the noodle shop on the first floor, which ignited the surrounding flammable materials.
Videos show that after the massive fire, the entire exterior wall and windows of the building were charred black, indicating the extent of the damage caused by the blaze.
