On May 19, Tzu Chi Humanities School in Irvine held its graduation ceremony to bid farewell to the graduating students as they embark on a new stage in life. The ceremony was filled with warmth and emotion, with graduates, parents, teachers, and guests gathered together in a joyous atmosphere. Xiao Beiru, director of the Orange County Chinese Service Center, was invited to attend the event.
Principal Hua Wanzhen delivered a speech wishing the graduates well as they leave the school, carrying the love and humanistic spirit of Tzu Chi, treating others with kindness, good deeds, and good language, and becoming pillars of society.
Xiao Beiru encouraged students to continue learning Mandarin, suggesting they use e-book resources on the Global Chinese website during the summer break to practice at home with their parents, improve their Mandarin speaking skills, and enhance their enthusiasm for learning Mandarin. Xiao Beiru also presented awards to students who excelled in the spring academic competition alongside Principal Hua.
During the ceremony, students showcased their talents with performances. The first-grade class sang “Thank You for Listening”, while the second-grade “Tzu” class presented a medley of songs and the “Ji” class performed “Love You”. There were also street dance performances and a robot talent show, displaying the diverse talents of the graduates and earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
