American professional golfer and 15-time major champion Eldrick “Tiger” Woods made headlines on Sunday (March 23) when he revealed on social media that he is pursuing Vanessa Trump, the former daughter-in-law of President Trump.
Vanessa Trump, 47, is the ex-wife of President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. The couple was married for over 13 years and has five children together. They finalized their divorce in 2018.
On Sunday, the 49-year-old Woods posted a photo of Vanessa and himself on social media, captioning it, “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to embarking on this journey together.”
He also stated, “At this time, we hope that the privacy of all those close to us will be protected.”
In the 2000s, Woods was embroiled in extramarital affairs and a sex scandal that tarnished his public image and impacted his professional career.
Woods split from his first wife, Elin Nordegren, after six years of marriage. The former couple shares two children.
Woods has played golf with President Trump on numerous occasions. In February, Woods attended a meeting at the White House with Trump and leaders of the professional golf associations to discuss future championships in the sport and the current partnership with the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League. Trump also awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his first term.
As the former wife of President Trump’s son, Vanessa was often present at official events involving the Trump family during Trump’s first term in office.
President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, congratulated Woods and Vanessa, saying, “I am happy for both of you!”
