Trump test-drives Tesla at the White House, shows support for Musk.

President Trump posed for a photo next to a row of Tesla cars in front of the White House and even stepped into one of the Tesla vehicles, showing his support for his ally and billionaire Elon Musk.

“Elon Musk is ‘risking his life’ to help our country, he is doing a tremendous job!” Trump stated on the social media platform “Truth Social” on Tuesday morning (March 11), “I will be purchasing a brand-new Tesla tomorrow morning to demonstrate my trust and support for Musk, he is a truly great American.”

In the afternoon of Tuesday, Trump told the media that he had bought a Cybertruck for his granddaughter, Kai Trump. This Tesla vehicle will be used at the White House.

Trump mentioned that Musk has been treated unfairly, “I believe he has been treated very unfairly by a small group of people, and I want people to know that one should not be punished for loving their country.” Trump seemed to hint at violent actions against Tesla and its dealers.

Musk, the CEO of the electric car company Tesla and the unofficial leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), played a crucial role in the significant reduction of federal employees during the Trump administration.

Musk stated that Tesla’s production in the U.S. will double in the next two years. “As a testament to President Trump and his administration’s great policies, and a show of confidence in America, Tesla will double its U.S. car production in the next two years,” he said.

During President Biden’s term, efforts to promote electric vehicles in the White House were substantial, but Tesla never received an invitation. This is because although Tesla is manufactured in the U.S., the company is not unionized.

The photo-op between Trump and the electric vehicles took place after Tesla’s stock price plunged more than 15% on Monday (10th). Tesla’s stock price has been continuously plummeting in recent weeks. So far this year, Tesla’s stock has fallen over 40%.

During the photography session on Tuesday afternoon, Trump was asked about the recent news of the consecutive market declines.

Trump told the media, “Markets go up, and sometimes they go down, but you know, we must rebuild our country. Our nation has been stripped of (many) job opportunities.”
