On Friday evening (March 7th), a shooting incident occurred at a bar in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada, leaving more than ten people injured.
According to Canadian police, they received a report around 10:40 p.m. on March 7th that multiple people had been shot near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive.
Toronto paramedics initially reported that 11 adults were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to critical. However, the police later confirmed that 12 people were injured.
Paramedics stated, “The individuals here are not in life-threatening condition, but the extent of injuries to the other victims is still unclear.”
Police also revealed that a suspect wearing a black hood was seen driving a silver car fleeing the scene and is currently at large. The motive for the attack remains unknown.
Authorities urged the public to stay away from the location of the incident.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said she had spoken with Police Chief Myron Demkiw over the phone. Demkiw assured her that “all necessary resources have been deployed.”
“Investigations are still ongoing – the police will provide further details,” Chow wrote on social media. “I stand with the victims and their families.”
