Long Island’s Suffolk County Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect, Rex Heuermann, was charged on December 17th with the murder of the seventh call girl, Valerie Mack.
The 61-year-old suspect Heuermann had previously been indicted for the alleged killings of six women. According to the indictment issued by the grand jury on December 17th, Heuermann is now charged with the murder of the seventh woman, Mack. He appeared in court that day and pleaded not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors requested that he be held without bail.
Mack is believed to have been murdered between September and December 2000, at the age of 24. She was a call girl at the time. Her remains were found in two different locations in Suffolk County in 2000 and 2011, with her identity confirmed through DNA evidence in 2020. According to the indictment, a hair found near Mack’s left wrist closely matched the DNA of Heuermann’s wife and daughter, leading to the conclusion that he was the perpetrator of Mack’s murder.
Heuermann is accused of killing multiple women in the basement of his residence in Massapequa Park between 1993 and 2011, with most victims being call girls in their twenties. These cases remained unsolved for years until the summer of 2023 when police and prosecutors gathered enough evidence to arrest and charge Heuermann.
