The Taiwan Central Weather Bureau stated that there will be two cold air masses affecting Taiwan in the upcoming week, urging the public to stay warm.
According to the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau’s weather forecast from today (December 16) to the end of the week (until 24:00 on the 22nd), the weather conditions are as follows:
From the 16th to the 17th, the cold air mass from the mainland will weaken during the day, with early morning and evening temperatures remaining low but slightly rising during the day. Keelung’s northern coast, northeastern, eastern regions, and the mountainous areas of greater Taipei may experience scattered brief showers, while other areas will be mostly cloudy. A cloud system will move northward on the 16th, bringing scattered brief showers to the southern, southeastern regions, and mountainous areas north of the central region.
Starting from the evening of the 17th, the northeast monsoon will strengthen or the cold air mass from the mainland will move southward. Temperatures will drop slightly in the central and northeastern regions, with cooler weather in the northern and northeastern regions on the 18th and 19th, and other areas will also experience cold mornings and evenings. Keelung’s northern coast, northeastern, eastern regions, and the mountainous areas of greater Taipei may have isolated brief showers, while other areas will be mostly cloudy to clear.
On the 20th, the northeast monsoon or cold air mass from the mainland will gradually weaken, leading to a slight temperature rise. Weather in the northern and northeastern regions will remain cool, with other areas experiencing cool mornings and evenings. Keelung’s northern coast, northeastern, eastern regions, and the mountainous areas of greater Taipei may experience scattered brief showers, while other areas will be mostly cloudy to clear.
By the 21st, the northeast monsoon will strengthen again or the cold air mass from the mainland will move southward, causing temperatures to drop across all regions. On the 22nd, the influence of the northeast monsoon or cold air mass from the mainland will result in cooler weather in the northern and northeastern regions, with other areas also experiencing cold mornings and evenings. There may be brief showers in areas north of Taoyuan, northeastern regions, and localized brief showers in the eastern regions and northern mountainous areas, with other areas being mostly cloudy to clear.
