Two hospital department heads in Wuxi hospital involved in a fight with a female nurse, one admitted to ICU.

In Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, two department heads of a hospital got into a physical altercation with a nurse in her twenties, leading to one of them being hospitalized in the hospital’s ICU. The news of this incident quickly spread on the internet, sparking widespread attention and becoming a hot topic of discussion.

According to several netizens on July 31st, in mid-July, the director of the Emergency Department and the director of the Stomatology Department at Wuxi People’s Hospital got into a fight over an issue involving a female nurse. The director of the Emergency Department was injured and had to be hospitalized in the hospital’s ICU. Both department heads are around 50 years old, while the nurse is in her twenties. The conflict is suspected to be related to emotional tensions.

The medical records posted by netizens indicated that a patient was admitted to the hospital’s Orthopedics Department at around 3 am on July 18th. The case notes stated that the patient had accidentally fallen an hour ago, resulting in injuries to the head, neck, and right hand. The patient complained of pain in the right hand, difficulty moving the right middle finger, bleeding, temporary loss of consciousness after the injury, waking up unable to recall how the injury occurred, and experiencing headaches, dizziness, and neck pain.

Another medical record showed that the patient was transferred to the hospital’s Emergency Intensive Care Unit (EICU) later that day.

This incident has sparked extensive discussions, with many netizens expressing concerns that if the allegations are true, it would damage the image of medical staff.

The local newspaper “Xiaoxiang Morning News” reported that the disciplinary and supervisory staff of Wuxi People’s Hospital stated that the hospital has already intervened in handling the matter. When asked whether the individuals involved had been disciplined, the staff replied that specific actions would depend on the results of the ongoing investigation which is still in progress.

The staff at the Wuxi Municipal Health Commission office mentioned that they needed to consult with the department of publicity, but repeated calls to the office went unanswered.
