South Korean actress Kim Ji-won and renowned Chinese singer Jay Chou, among others, were invited to participate in the opening event of a boutique in Taipei tonight (June 25), attracting a large number of fans who braved the rain to wait for them.
In an interview, Kim expressed her strong desire to drink bubble milk tea while in Taiwan, while Jay Chou mentioned his interest in holding a concert at the Taipei Dome, pending confirmation from the venue.
Kim Ji-won’s popularity has soared once again due to her leading role in the Korean drama “Queen of Tears”. Having just concluded her fan meeting in Seoul, she arrived in Taipei on the 24th to a warm welcome from enthusiastic fans at the airport. Upon her arrival, she continuously blew kisses and made heart gestures to the crowd.
Tonight, Kim Ji-won and Jay Chou, along with others, attended the boutique opening event in Taipei. As it was Kim Ji-won’s first visit to Taiwan, nearly 500 fans gathered outside the venue despite the rain. During the event, Kim Ji-won appeared in a tight black dress and greeted fans on-site.
In an interview with the Central News Agency, Kim Ji-won expressed her gratitude for the warm reception from Taiwanese fans and eagerly anticipated the fan meeting on July 21, saying, “I hope the fan meeting will come soon.” She also revealed her strong desire to taste Taiwan’s bubble milk tea and mango ice during this trip.
Also present at the event was the famous singer Jay Chou, who made a rare public appearance in Taiwan as an ambassador. Greeting the crowd loudly, he asked, “How is everyone?” to which the audience responded warmly.
When asked at the event if he would hold a concert at the Taipei Dome, Jay Chou replied, “I have freed up my schedule in August, but I am not sure about the response from the Taipei Dome.” While hinting at his willingness to hold a concert, the decision is pending confirmation from the venue and is still in progress.
