Amid the annual Chinese national college entrance exams, a traffic accident occurred on the evening of June 9 in Guangxi involving a bus transporting high school students for the exams, which overturned. The accident resulted in 5 people sustaining minor injuries, with 2 people having slight injuries, including 4 injured students.
A video shared by a netizen showed that on the evening of June 9, at an intersection in Dengming Village, Pingshan Town, Pingnan County, Guigang City, Guangxi, a minibus carrying over 30 high school students collided head-on with a car coming from the opposite direction and overturned. The accident resulted in 4 injured students and 1 slightly injured car driver, with no fatalities reported.
On June 10, the Traffic Police Brigade of Nanping County Public Security Bureau issued a report stating that around 20:40 on June 9, a car and a bus collided on Section G241 of Pingshan Town, Pingnan County, Guangxi, resulting in 5 minor injuries and 2 slight injuries. The injured were promptly taken to hospitals for treatment. Currently, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
According to online videos, the minibus transporting high school students collided with a white car approaching from the opposite direction at an intersection, causing the minibus to overturn. Another video circulating online showed many students sitting on the roadside with scrapes on their forearms from the accident.
On June 10, officials from the Emergency Management Bureau of Pingnan County informed the media that “4 students sustained minor injuries, and there were no fatalities. The students onboard were examinees from Pingshan Town who had just completed their exams in the county and were being transported back to Pingshan Town after the exams.” In addition to the students, the car driver also sustained minor injuries.
Just 7 days ago on June 3, a school bus overturning accident occurred in Huangtoukou Town, Yangxin County, Huangshi City, Hubei, resulting in multiple student injuries.
A circulated video showed that the accident took place in the early morning near an intersection, with an orange school bus flipped over on the roadside. There was no fire or smoke from the vehicles, and several individuals were engaged in the rescue effort, occasionally pulling children out from the overturned bus. After being rescued, the children were able to walk on their own, seemingly without serious harm.
According to the police report released by Yangxin County, at around 6:50 on June 3, when Lu (male, 46 years old) was driving a truck at an intersection in Huangtoukou Town, he collided with a school bus driven by Ming (male, 58 years old), leading to 4 students suffering fractures and hospitalized. There is no immediate threat to their lives. Both Lu and Ming have been taken into custody by the police, ruling out suspicions of driving under the influence. The cause of the accident is under further investigation.
Subsequently, the official account of Yangxin County, “Yunshang Yangxin”, also issued a situation report stating that following the school bus overturning, 1 driver, 1 teacher, and 22 elementary school students on board sustained varying degrees of injuries. After receiving medical treatment, 4 students require hospitalization for treatment, while the other 20 injured are being observed in the hospital for soft tissue injuries, with no fatalities reported.
