According to reports by The Paper, on February 22 at 11:18 am, Quan Dan, the political commissar of the Forest Public Security Bureau in Longshan County, Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan Province, and a senior police officer, suddenly fell ill and passed away despite rescue efforts, at the age of 48.
Quan Dan, born in January 1977, joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Public Security in July 1997, was a CCP member, and held the rank of a senior police officer.
It was reported that Quan Dan’s mother worked in the CCP public security system.
During her 28 years in the police force, Quan Dan served in various positions such as in Shuitian Police Station, Household Registration Section, Political Office, Huatang Police Station, Economic Investigation Brigade, and the Forest Public Security Bureau. She had received commendations from the county government.
The untimely death of the 48-year-old senior female police officer due to a sudden illness has attracted attention from mainland Chinese netizens. Many are expressing their condolences while also being concerned about the specific cause of her illness.
