On December 12, the Public Security Bureau of Xichang City in Sichuan Province reported that at around 01:39 on the 11th, a road traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Jianchang Road and Zhengyi Road in Xichang City. Investigation revealed that a man named Wang (aged 30) was driving a small car from the direction of the Jianchang Road archway towards the intersection with Zhengyi Road when he hit the three pedestrians crossing the road on the sidewalk, resulting in the death of all three individuals despite rescue efforts.
The report mentioned that “Wang was driving a motor vehicle after drinking alcohol” and he has been criminally detained.
