11 people killed in a collision between two boats in Huaihua, Hunan

On February 25, a ship collision accident occurred in Huaihua City, Hunan Province, resulting in 19 people falling into the water. As of the evening of February 28, the accident has claimed the lives of 11 people, with 5 individuals still missing.

According to a previous report by the Emergency Management Department of Hunan Province, around 10 a.m. on February 25, a collision occurred between an oil pollution cleaning vessel (Huailu Shui No.1) and a passenger ship (Xiang Yuanling Passenger 0301) in the Yuanshui River area of Qinglang Township, Yuanling County, Huaihua City. This collision caused the passenger ship to overturn and sink, leading to 19 people falling into the water. Among them, 2 people died, 3 were injured, and 14 others went missing.

As reported by China News on March 1, the sunken ship was salvaged from the water at 21:26 on the 28th. Among the 14 missing persons, 9 have been found onshore, unfortunately deceased. The remaining missing individuals are still being searched for and rescued.
