On March 4th, the opening day of the CCP’s “Two Sessions,” an open letter addressed to all Chinese nationals posted on an overseas platform X has sparked attention. The letter calls for the “overthrow of the CCP dictatorship and the accountability of Xi Jinping’s crimes.”
The open letter, signed by Lü Zhanqiu and posted on the “Human Rights and Current Affairs” account on X platform, begins with, “Today, the CCP’s annual political advisory conference kicks off; tomorrow, the so-called People’s Congress will also make its debut. These two institutions are nothing more than fig leaves of a dictatorship, a poor performance of rubber stamps, and ugly props to whitewash Xi Jinping’s tyranny.”
The letter states, “We stand at a crossroad of history, a matter of life and death. Today’s China is not a cage for kneeling and surviving but a battlefield where we must stand tall, rise up, and resist! Abolishing the CCP dictatorship, holding Xi Jinping accountable for his heinous crimes, is an urgent and non-negotiable mission!”
The open letter continues, “As a victim of the CCP’s iron fist myself, I have personally experienced the illegal arrests, interrogations, detentions, forced exile, persecution of my family, and threats from a corrupt official gang led by Li Guosheng, the former Secretary of the Party Committee, and Mayor Bai Xiangyang of Shangqiu City, Henan Province. These blood-sucking parasites not only roam free but also continue to climb the career ladder, mock justice. And this is just the tip of the iceberg of the CCP’s tyranny. Perhaps you have not been struck by the iron fist yet, but in this dark land, who can remain unscathed? Sooner or later, when the CCP’s iron fist falls on you, you will also experience the despair that cries unanswered to heaven and earth.”
The letter further states, “Xi Jinping’s power may seem towering like a mountain, but in reality, it is a rootless floating duckweed. He relies not on the people’s support but on guns and lies. His lack of popularity is evident in the boiling grievances, the trampling of rule of law by dictators, economic decline, and societal division. He is not an unbreakable iron wall but a paper tiger swaying in the wind on the brink of collapse. History has long proven that the downfall of tyrants is not a myth but an inevitability.”
The letter mentions, “China is on the brink of peril! Internally and externally besieged, with the people suffering, this is not an exaggeration but a bloody reality. You may choose to remain silent, but please do not aid and abet tyranny. Let future generations not curse us as ‘spineless cowards’! For the sake of our families, for the future generations, for the brilliance of freedom and dignity to shine on this land again, we must step up – overthrow the CCP dictatorship, hold Xi Jinping accountable for his crimes!”
The open letter concludes that both the Chinese and English versions have been sent to over a dozen overseas media outlets to draw worldwide attention to democratization in China. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, silence is complicity, the people are waiting, history is watching!”
The open letter was published on March 4th, 2025, under the name of Lü Zhanqiu. The “Human Rights and Current Affairs” account notes Lü Zhanqiu’s registered residence as Shangqiu City, Henan Province.
The whereabouts of Lü Zhanqiu are currently unknown.
Before the CCP’s national “Two Sessions,” the authorities suddenly released a revised version of the “National Emergency Management Overall Emergency Plan,” emphasizing social stability, enhancing public opinion guidance, and central command. Many observers believe that similar plans have been implemented by the CCP in the past. With China’s economy declining and social tensions escalating, mass protests could erupt at any moment. This plan by the CCP is seen as a response to the imminent fear of nationwide large-scale unrest leading to its demise.
