Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau announced at 8:30 p.m. today (29th) that Typhoon Kong-Rey, which is currently a moderate typhoon, has slightly intensified over the past 3 hours. The center of the typhoon is located southeast of Yilan, moving in a northwest to west-northwest direction. It poses a threat to the Bashi Channel and the southeastern waters of Taiwan. The typhoon is forecasted to strengthen further, with a tendency for the storm radius to expand.
